Kurt Adkins, M.A., provides sport psychology services for the DVFC, working with players, teams, coaches, and parents on issues related to performance anxiety, team cohesion, various optimal performance mental training skills, and developmental issues.

Kurt has a master's degree in sport psychology.  In addition to serving as the sport psychology director for the DVFC, he also teaches sport psychology at the International Sport Institute Academy in Walnut Creek.  He previously taught the Psychology of Coaching course in JFKU's graduate psychology program, and has conducted seminars in the field since 1988.

Kurt retired from coaching after 53 years as a youth and high school sports coach, most recently leading the Las Lomas High School Boys Soccer Program from 2016-17 through 2023-24.  He has 24 various licenses/diplomas/credentials in coaching, along with three educational/teaching credentials.  Kurt received honors in high school and in college as a soccer player.  He has also had numerous short stories and poems published, and has authored four books.
