An Update from Delta Program Director Edgar Rivera

The Delta Wolves program continues to grow, and we’re excited to kick off another strong fall season as part of the wider Wolves Futbol Group. What started just a few years ago with two teams has now grown to 14 teams, a milestone that reflects the commitment of our players, families, coaches, and the Delta community.

A huge thank you goes to our coaches, who remain at the heart of that growth. They continue to invest their time and energy into our boys and girls, not only helping them develop as soccer players, but also teaching teamwork, confidence, discipline, and a genuine love for the game.

We’re excited to welcome all of our new players and families and look forward to a fun, competitive, and memorable fall season together. We’re proud of how far the Delta program has come, the community that continues to grow around it, and even more excited about where it is headed.

ABOUT EDGAR RIVERA

Edgar Rivera has been coaching youth soccer since 2010 and serves as Program Director of DVFC Delta, where he leads the program's coaching philosophy, player-development approach, and continued growth throughout Antioch and the greater Delta community.

Edgar holds the Football Association of Wales (FAW) C-License, a UEFA-aligned coaching qualification focused on purposeful, player-centered development. His philosophy centers on developing intelligent, confident, technically capable players who understand the why behind the game—learning to recognize space, make decisions, solve problems, compete with confidence, and take ownership of their development.

Beyond soccer, Edgar is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). His professional experience working with youth and families brings a unique perspective to his coaching, particularly in the areas of confidence, resilience, communication, leadership, and relationship-building.

Edgar is deeply passionate about serving Antioch and the Delta community. Under his leadership, DVFC Delta has grown from a small collection of teams into an expanding boys' and girls' development program focused on high-quality coaching, competitive opportunities, and stronger player pathways.

For Edgar, DVFC Delta represents more than soccer. It's an investment in local players, coaches, families, and the community—a place where young athletes can develop their game, build confidence and character, and take pride in representing Antioch and the Delta.
